We are soliciting comments on the draft report from the NASA CORE (Challenges and Opportunities in ESI) Workshop, held November 2–3, 2015. The purpose of the CORE Workshop was to revisit the strategic plan for the NASA Earth Surface and Interior (ESI) Focus Area. The strategic plan was set down in the 2002 document Living on a Restless Planet, the report of the Solid Earth Science Working Group (SESWG) (http://solidearth.jpl.nasa.gov/seswg.html). For more than a decade, this important document has provided core guidance for ESI program development and scientific rationale for ESI-related NASA missions. The goal of this workshop was to update the long-term science strategy outlined in SESWG.
The draft CORE Workshop report can be retrieved at: http://www.ldeo.columbia.edu/~jdavis/CORE_Report_Review_Draft.pdf
The public comment period will end on May 31. Your comments should be e-mailed to Amy Chen (amy.p.chen<at>nasa.gov <amy.p.chen<at>nasa.gov>). Thank you.
