Dear Colleagues,

I want to draw your attention to the 6th International Archean Symposium (
https://6ias.org/) that will be held on July 14 to 16, 2020 in Perth,
Australia, along with pre- and post field trips (
https://6ias.org/field-trip/) to see the Archean cratons in WA.

Please check out the information below for the program and invited speakers
if you are interested; also note the abstract submission deadline is Feb
28.

The 6th International Archean Symposium aims to highlight some of the most
significant contributions and greatest advances in research into
Precambrian geoscience from the last ten years. The 6IAS Organising
Committee has announced a diverse three-day technical program including
high-level plenary sessions, panel discussion and poster sessions,
reflecting the depth and breadth of current geoscientific knowledge. Pre-
and post-conference field trips explore some of Australia’s most impressive
Precambrian geological sites in the Pilbara, Gawler and Yilgarn Cratons.

The technical program includes the following themes, keynotes and invited
speakers:

- Early Earth evolution (Dr Richard Carlson and Associate Professor
Monika A. Kusiak)
- Emergence of atmosphere and life on early Earth (Dr Eva Stüeken and Dr
Raphael Baumgartner)
- Development of Archean continental crust and lithosphere (Professor
Mike Brown and Dr Priyadarshi Chowdhury)
- Role of Archean lithosphere in the evolution of younger terranes
(Associate Professor Kuo-Lung Wang and Mr João Motta)
- Cratons and craton margins (Associate Professor Tim Johnson and
Professor Peng Peng)
- Defining the Archean to Proterozoic transition (Associate Professor
Andrey Bekker and Dr Aubrey Zerkle)
- Mineral systems of Archean terranes and their margins (Dr Patrick
Mercier-Langevin and Dr Crystal Laflamme)

Cheers,
Huaiyu
