The Geophysics/Seismology section of the Department of Earth and
Environmental Sciences of the Ludwig Maximilians-University Munich,
Germany, seeks applications for the development, maintenance, and
extension of scientific software. We expect experience in areas such as

- Programming using C/C++, Python, Fortran, Jupyter

- Data bases (e.g., mysql)

- Web applications (html, postgres)

- Software management (e.g., github, gitlab)

- Parallel computing (e.g., MPI, gpu programming)

Specific tasks are the extension and stabilization of the Python library
ObsPy (www.obspy.org https://www.obspy.org) , the maintenance of a
seismic monitoring system, and the Jupyter notebook library
www.seismo-live.org http://www.seismo-live.org as well as task in the
simulation of physical processes. We offer interesting tasks connected
to scientific projects with intensive international networking. English
language skills are required.

We seek flexible applicants and also offer part time opportunities. The
project is non-tenured. Prolongation may be possible. The salary is
according to qualification.
