Active Message Threads for November 2012
Dear SAC users
I would like to know if SAC software can create synthetic seismograms (such
as Shake Movie Global from Princeton University).
I am interested in performing some tests with software that manage data from
a seismic array. So, what I need is seismograms from very close stations
(100-500 meters) and epicenter distances around 50 km.
Best regards
Jorge Morales

"sac-seismgr: Waveform-id already exists in memory".
How to remove this warning message.
Thanking you,

Hi Justin -
I have been working with spectrogram a lot lately and I do not think you can zoom in/out with spectrogram like you can with ppk. Instead, you have to cut your input seismogram for the desired time range and run it through spectrogram on its own.
Hope this helps!

Hello all,
I just want to make the request from my previous email more clear. I would
like to know how to change the time range (on the x-axis) of the
spectrogram, not the frequency range.
Thanks again
Justin

Re: xlim for Spectrogram - George Helffrich - 2012-11-20 14:20:09
Hello all,
Is there a way to zoom in on a SAC spectrogram as you would for a
seismogram? That is, can you zoom into a specified time window on a
spectrogram. I've tried using the xlim command, but it only changes the
time window on the seismogram and not the spectrogram. Any help would be
appreciated.
Thank you,
Justin

Dears sac users
how are you,
Please my professor can you tell me how to convert SAC data, which i request
and extract it from CTBTO stations, in to seed format.
or if possible how to convert sac data (which converted to sac from other format under linux operating system) to sac PC.
I am waiting your kind reply.
the data which I want to convert it from sac to seed or Y-format or miniseed, I got it from CTBTO.
but my problem is how to convert it from sac.
With all respect and appreciation
