Re: problem with SAC installation on Cygwin - Brian Savage - 2014-12-01 17:45:07
Hello all,
Some days ago I requested seed data using JWEED software and then used
rdseed to extract SAC files. I also used summary file to put event
information into sac headers while extracting the sac files from seed using
rdseed, I am using rdseed 5.3.1. But it seems to me that OMARKER time in
these headers is not at right place. To give you an example.

Re: Problem with OMARKER time in sacfiles - Mehdi Qashqai - 2014-11-21 17:20:51
Hi All,
I just installed sac-101.6a-mac_x86_64.tar.gz on my mac running OS
10.10.1, but when I try to fire it up, I get this error:
[derek@Dereks-MacBook-Pro-3:/usr/local/sac/bin]$ ./sac
dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/X11/lib/libSM.6.dylib
Referenced from: /usr/local/sac/bin/./sac
Reason: image not found
Trace/BPT trap: 5
There is no /usr/X11/lib directory on my computer. Does this mean that
there's no sac binary that yet runs on Yosemite?
Thanks,
Derek

IRIS has changed their URLs, so some of the addresses used in the SAC README file and the SAC manual are no longer going to work. Accordingly, we have updated the HTML and PDF SAC manuals. The URL for the manual that is up to date is <http://ds.iris.edu/files/sac-manual/>.
A quick summary of the changes can be seen from an updated paragraph in the README file:

Dear Collegue,
I have just installed SAC 09/10/2014 Version 101.6a and I have some problem
with one of my scripts.
With the older version of sac the following command use to work
setbb nn ( INTEGER ( ADD 0.1 ( DIVIDE 0.1 &1,delta )))
if I run the same script using the latest version of SAC I get the
following error
Syntax error: setbb nn ( INTEGER ( ADD 0.1 ( DIVIDE 0.1 &1,delta )))
ERROR 1016: Terminating execution of macro ../macro.resempling
Unfortunately I couldn't find out where the…

Re: setbb error - Brian Savage - 2014-11-14 18:48:21
Dear Sir
I have a local event recorded by 4 stations that have different sampling frequencies, are 20 Hz and 25 Hz.Therefore I set a new sampling rate to uniform sampling frequency. Previously I checked the maximum frequency signals are recorded by the stations, the maximum frequencies are12 Hz. Then, I decided to choose 25 Hz, given that the minimum sampling frequency is twice the maximum frequency recorded by the station. In this case, I think the seismometers with a sampling frequency of 20…
