I am using a macbook (intel cpu; tiger) and 'ssh' to my linux machine at
school.
I started up SAC2000 (v.101-1) and used 'plot' command on the Linux
machine.
It seems that the cross-hair (i.e., the mouse cursor) becomes 'yellow' which
is very difficult
to see. Anyone met the same problem and any solution? Thank you.

There is another subprogram, called readsac.m, with comments
in french, which reads sac files and reads little-endian and
big-endian files transparently.

Hi All,
The Matlab script rsac.m reads my sac data in Matlab environment, but
mostly the values of the variables
are not correct, they are not even close. An example is given below.
If you have any similar experience or suggestion, please give me your
advice.
Thank you.

Example:

Re: help on rsac.m - Brian Savage - 2008-11-25 18:16:23
Dear Sir,
I converted sac ASCII format data (from DIMAS2003) to sac binary and I tried to read and change the origin time header as follows:
ch o GMT YYY DDD(Julian) HH MM SS SSS(MS)
then when I run lh (LIST HEADER), I got the following for the OMARKER
OMARKER=xxx.xx (-12345)
This -12345 also appears on the plot instead of the reference time o. I am really having problem, any help please.
With Regards,
Ayele

Dear SAC users,
I am trying to install and run the latest v.101.2 on SuSE 9.3 (32-bit)x86
and getting the "Floating point exception" while trying to run the sac
binary.
I didn't modify anything, simply copied the untarred files/dirs to
/usr/local/sac and setup the environment variables.
The OS:
Linux kernel 2.6.11.4-21.7-bigsmp #1 SMP Thu Jun 2 14:23:14 UTC 2005 i686
i686 i386 GNU/Linux
The env. vars:
export SACHOME=/usr/local/sac
export PATH=${PATH}:${SACHOME}/bin
export SACAUX=${SACHOM…

Dear SAC users,
we are currently using the SAC2000 software in order to plot different
seismograms inside one single figure by using the epicentral distances
(degrees) along the y-axis. For this, we made use of both "addstack" and
"changestack" commands inside the sss environment. We found that our
seismograms are being plotted with a changed polarity and also with a
different amplitudes. Does anyone knows how to plot them inside the same
plot by keeping the same polarity and using a sort of "…

correlation function for two seismic signals.
Best regards

Dear all,
I have two files, A and AA. File AA is simply the absolute value of
A. I want to divide A by AA to get a one-bit signal (1 or -1). I get
this error message:
SAC> r a
SAC> divf aa
WARNING: Data value outside system storage bounds
Maxvalue = 3.4028e+38 Minvalue = -1
Any idea what the problem is?
Best, Ashley

To all sac users
I'm a Ph.D. student of the University of Naples Federico II. I'm
analysing some seismic records in order to obtain the seismic response
of an earth structure. I was able to filter the signals and to obtain
the Fourier spectrum of the signal but I'm non able to obtain the
amplification factor comparing two different fourier spectra. Is
possible, with the sac, to compare two spectra and two obtain the
amplification factor?. Moreover is possible with sac to ob…
