Hi Pratyush-
What I would be looking for is indications that an event origin has been marked in the SAC header. Once you read the file, you can list the header contants:
SAC> read /data/sac/IU.RAO.00.BHZ.M.2019.206.143943.SAC
SAC> listhdr
FILE: /data/sac/IU.RAO.00.BHZ.M.2019.206.143943.SAC - 1
---------------------------------------------------
NPTS = 27440
B = 5.360000e-04
E = 6.859756e+02
IFTYPE = TIME SERIES FILE
LEVEN = TRUE
DELT…
