Greetings,
I am just wondering as to why the users are not allowed to download SAC soon after they fill in the necessary details. Is SAC not a freely distributed software? Why is there a "processing" time? In my view downloading SAC should be a less bureaucratic process than it is at present.
Thank you.
Sincerely,

Hi,
I was working with the sac header for a bunch of files,
when i want writing the KINST variable, i see that it is
only 8 characters long, so my instrument description
is cut, i want write digitizer+sensor numbers (0681_T3305),
so, is possible change the KINST from 8 to 16 characters?
or, generate other variable (KSENS) to put the sensor number?
or what other header variable is fine to use?
Thanks a lot,

Hi All,
I want to compute surface wave dispersion curves from cross correlation of
ambient noises between seismic stations. For this purpose, I need to
perform time domain normalization via "running-absolute
mean-normalization". This method computes the running average of absolute
value of the waveform in a normalization time window of fixed length and
weights the waveform at the center of the window by the inverse of this
average. This should have the effect of removing the large events and
