Hi,
I am learning SAC, when I input 'plot', the sentence of ' X11 Screen does
not exist' shows up and SAC will quit automatically. May I know how to
solve the problem? I am using the remote window connecting to the Linux
system, does it matter the ' plot' command and X11 screen? I appreciate
your help.
Thanks
Tracy

Dear Sac Users,
I would like to work on seismic anisotropy using harmonic decomposition of
a receiver functions data set. For this purpose, I need a code of harmonic
decomposition.
I will be very grateful for your help.
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Sachin

Hi Sac users,
I have OBS record that follows the right-handed
system in which H2 component is 90 degree counter-clockwise of H1.
Horizontal component data file are as following:
2018.128.01.00.45.420.X.sac ---> East component
2018.128.01.00.45.420.Y.sac ----> North component
2018.128.01.00.45.420.Z.sac ----> Vertical component
The orientation correction angle is 80 degree.
For rotation, I use the following scheme:
sac>> read 2018.128.01.00.45.420.Y.sac 2018.128.0…

Dear all,
We are in the process of migrating to a new Linux system running Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS, and the old libsac.a and sacio.a refuse to work with gfortran. Any hints? Thanks in advance!
Sincerely,
Stephen Gao
The error message:
/usr/bin/ld: /home/sgao/soft/SAC/lib/sacio.a(getsmsg.o): relocation R_X86_64_32S against undefined symbol `kmmsg' can not be used when making a PIE object; recompile with -fPIC
And yes, I indeed tried recompiling with -fPIC, but it still did not work.

Re: Qualifying to download SAC. - Robert Casey - 2020-12-03 14:23:31
Dear All,
I was wondering how one qualifies to be able to download SAC.
I’ve been using SAC for over 25 years while employed under the EQ Hazards program at the USGS, and subsequently while at the NOAA/NWS/Pacific Tsunami Center, in Hawaii. I continue to perform research in Seismology, using SAC. (For example, see some of my references ** below).
How should I go about qualifying to be able to continue using SAC?
Thanks you!
Cheers,
Barry Hirshorn

Dear Daphne,
I understand your concern. Just go with this command
mseed2sac -i *.mseed
*.mseed will consider all the files to convert while -i converts them
individually.
Best,
Sanjay
